Look carefully at the new question on the PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) application. I so love Acronyms. PEBCAK and Window 7 are currently our two most dreaded hurdles.

Exactly as George says.  You may already be aware also that it is possible to purchase per-device ESU (extended security updates) after EOL.  But since the ESU is there only for those who need to run legacy software as a last resort, major vendors like Intuit will no longer devote resources to make sure their products are backward compatible to Windows 7, which means there is no telling whether new programs will run properly in that unsupported antiquated environment.
