Does the IRS not accept payments when e-filed and when an extension was filed? The returns were filed before 10/15

HUH? IRS will always accept payments. Did you get some type of reject of the e-file? Did the payment not get processed yet (i.e. the next day?) I am sure there is more context to your question. 

I think the short answer to your question is NO. The IRS does accept payments when e-filed, regardless of whether an extension was filed or not.

Look at the clients form 9325, does it show that the electronic payment was accepted or not?  I remember earlier this year the 9325 was showing that it was NOT accepted, yet the payment did come out of the clients account.
