Why does Lacert and ProSeries Online both have access to form 843 in the program but Proseries Professional does not? Frustrating!!!!

Form 843 required to refund penalties paid on estimated payments after 3/28/19 update. This form should be available if it is offered on ProSeries Online and Lacerte . I always feel like ProSeries is the middle child and gets paid no attention or upgrades as it should.

Not ideal, definitively,  The consolation is that there is not a lot that would flow from the return to this form other than basic taxpayer data and the form will need to be filed on paper anyway.

ProSeries is not the middle child.  Just to clarify, there is no ProSeries Online.  What you referred to is ProConnect Tax Online (used to be called Intuit Tax Online previously).

ProConnect Tax Online (PTO) has the same form sets and uses the same tax logic as Lacerte, which is the engine under the hood.  It has its own set of problems; although it runs on the Lacerte engine, the input is clunky and it lacks the features and flexibility offered by Lacerte.

The answer was not helpful.  If its as easy as filling in the taxpayer data then it should absolutely be part of the software.  I have  6 clients I need to submit this for for due to the 80% estimated tax adjustment.  I could get it done in far less time if it self populated.

It is only a statement of facts.  You are more than welcome to try to get Intuit to change - if you are successful, many here may want to employ you as a lobbyist.  I wouldn't hold my breath as I would have suffocated many times over.

You must not have faith the IRS is going to adjust this for all affected taxpayers like they said!
