    Can I get an extension for a return already filed? My client wants to delay his SEP-IRA contribution.

    My client already filed his return and deducted his SEP-IRA contribution.  Now he wants to wait until October to make the contribution.  Can he extend a return he already filed?

    An extension would be rejected if you tried to file it after filing the tax return.
