Can you modify the program so the "Tax Reform Impact Summary" showed the 2018 results & compared that to what the 2018 result would have been under the 'old' tax laws?

Regarding the "Tax Reform Impact Summary" in the 2018 Lacerte program.  Currently this form contains essentially similar information as the regular "Tax Summary."  It would be more useful to show the 2018 results and compare that to what the 2018 result would have been under the 'old' tax laws.  Sort of the reverse of what the "Tax Reform Impact Summary" accomplished in the 2017 program.

"I" can't...as I'm just a user of the software like you.

Feel free to suggest it to Intuit directly, but I'd suggest not holding your breath.

Intuit can't even get the current year's tax calculations correct, and you want them to ALSO work on calculations using old laws?  Really?

That would be like correcting the ProSeries double spacing on the invoice.

CFS Tax Tools will do it. Granted, you do have to pay for the program, but, imo, it's worth it. Use the Tax Planner module, set the number of projection years to 2, set the Start Year to 2017 (or leave it blank. Enter the 2018 figures under both column headers, 2017 and 2018. The 2018 result should be the same as the Lacerte results. The 2017 results will show the results under prior law.

NO.

The currently layout does help to show that not only did the tax change, but the income and withholding are all different. It is more of a guide to answer the "Why do I owe so much?" question.
