Using Client Analyzer Queries in ProSeries

SOLVEDby Intuit18Updated November 21, 2023

Before you start:

  • The client analyzer query can be used for most federal return types except 990, 709, and 706.
  • Some state-level queries are available.
  • The client analyzer query isn't available in ProSeries Basic.
  • You can't create custom queries.

Running Client Analyzer Query:

  1. Open ProSeries.
  2. From the HomeBase View dropdown select Client Analyzer Queries.
  3. Under Select Return Type use the dropdown menu to make your selection.
  4. Under Select Query review the available options to find the one that best meets your needs.
  5. Select Go for the query to begin.
  6. If any returns are password protected, you'll be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password to include that return or select Cancel to remove that return from the query.
  7. Once finished, you'll see a message summarizing how many clients were found.
  8. Select Close.
  9. To print the list of clients, choose Print Clients in the lower left corner.
  10. To export the list of clients to a excel:
    1. From the HomeBase menu, select Export View.
    2. Select Yes on the warning.
    3. Choose your save location and select Save.

Client Analyzer Query has now been extended to federal business returns offering 18 queries among four types of federal business returns in ProSeries Professional. The queries can be exported to Excel.
